Grooming Service Disclaimer

Thank you for choosing Furmily for your pet’s grooming needs. We prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of every pet in our care. Please read and acknowledge the following disclaimer before your pet’s appointment:

General Disclaimer

  1. Pet Health & Safety:

While we take every precaution to ensure a safe and comfortable grooming experience, grooming can sometimes expose underlying skin conditions, matting, or health issues that were not previously visible. We are not responsible for any pre-existing medical conditions or their consequences.

  1. Matting & Shaving Policy:

De-matting can be painful and stressful if your pet has excessive matting. In cases where de-matting is not humane, we will need to do a shave-down for the pet’s well-being. Shaving a matted pet can sometimes result in irritation or nicks but is necessary for your pet’s health. If we can de-matt your pet, there will be a de-matting charge based on the severity and how long it takes to de-matt your pet.

  1. Behavioural Issues & Aggression:

If a pet exhibits aggression, extreme anxiety, or uncontrollable behaviour during the grooming process, we reserve the right to immediately stop the service, and no refund will be provided.

If a pet attacks staff, other pets, or causes damage to store property, the pet owner shall bear the corresponding responsibility and compensation costs. The compensation amount will be assessed based on the extent of the damage.

If the pet owner is aware that their pet has aggressive tendencies, a history of biting, or extreme nervous reactions, they must inform the store prior to booking. Furmily reserves the right to refuse service.

If sedation is required, it must be arranged by the pet owner through their veterinarian before the grooming appointment. Furmily does not provide or recommend any sedation services. An extra charge will be applied if behaviour is difficult but still manageable.

  1. Accidents & Injuries:

Although rare, grooming tools are sharp, accidents such as minor cuts, scratches or nicks may occur especially with wiggly or anxious pets. We will always do our best to prevent such incidents and will notify owners if any issues arise.

  1. Fleas & Parasites:

If fleas or parasites are detected during the grooming process, we will immediately administer a flea treatment bath and notify the pet owner. This measure is mandatory to prevent contamination of other pets in the store.

An additional fee will be charged to cover the cost of flea treatment and the thorough disinfection of the grooming area. This ensures a clean and safe environment for all pets.

If a pet is brought in with a known flea or parasite issue, the owner must inform us in advance. In severe cases, we reserve the right to refuse service.

  1. Vaccinations:

We require all pets to be up to date on vaccinations. Additional vaccinations are required for pets coming from abroad. Proof of vaccination may be required.

  1. Missed Appointments & Cancellations:

We kindly request at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. A no-show or late cancellation will result in you losing your deposit.

  1. Late drop off and pick up:

We may not be able to do a groom if you are 30mins late to your appointment as there may not be enough time and have other clients scheduled. There is an additional charge for late drop-offs. At the end of the groom, your pet needs to be picked up within 30mins as the shop could become overcrowded. There is an additional charge for late pick-ups.
